- No Guarantee of Account Opening - Purchase of a gift certificate does not guarantee that the purchaser and/or recipient will be approved for a savings account. All accounts are subject to UIB’s standard account opening procedures and regulatory requirements.
- FDIC Insurance - Deposits made into UIB savings accounts, including those funded through gift certificate redemption, are FDIC insured up to the applicable limits. Gift certificates themselves are not FDIC insured until redeemed and deposited into a qualifying savings account. UIB is not responsible for lost or stolen certificates.
- Expiration and Fees - Gift certificates may expire or be subject to inactivity fees, in accordance with applicable law and as disclosed at the time of purchase. Gift certificates are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. After 6 months, the certificate will expire and no longer be valid.
- Use Restrictions - Gift certificates may not be resold, transferred for value, or redeemed for cash except as required by law.
- Fraud Prevention - UIB reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or hold any gift certificate transaction suspected of fraud or unauthorized activity.
- Limitation of Liability - UIB shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use gift certificates or from delay or failure in delivery, except as required by applicable law.
